About me...

A cat lover for as long as I can remember, I went back to University in 2018 to study a Foundation Degree in Animal Health and Welfare and found work in a cattery alongside my studies. I find kitties endlessly fascinating and I never get tired of meeting and (hopefully) befriending new ones.

Although I enjoyed my cattery work, I always wanted to spend more time with each individual kitty, which is what gave me the inspiration for the longer cat sitting visits so I can build a relationship with my furry clients to minimise the amount of stress they might feel when their humans are away. Spending time with them to observe their health and behaviour is of paramount importance to me and forms the crux of my service.

I have studied Cat and Dog First Aid at Coleg Gwent Usk and Feline Health and Behaviour with the International Cat Care organisation. As a member of the Cats Protection charity I have 24/7 access to a veterinary nurse phone line.

After cat sitting for friends and family over the years, I launched Emma's Cat Sitting in March 2021 and I have loved building my business since. Check out my testimonials to read how my customers value my cat focused service.

Aside from my cat obsession, I'm a friendly, polite and trustworthy person. I'm DBS checked, have both public liability and professional indemnity insurance and will happily provide references on request.

Credit for the inspiration for my career change must go to my beautiful black cat Bella who sadly passed away in May 2022 just shy of her 19th birthday. She helped me through a difficult time and made me ponder how I could spend more of my days with cats. She features in my logo alongside the lovely Mrs Snuffles, who was brought into my life through my cattery work and although she wasn't with us very long due to existing health issues, she was a huge personality and I love to be reminded of them both whenever I see my logo.

I'm now furmum to a naughty, needy, nosey 5yr old ginger called Roux and a sassy 4yr old fluffball called Tallulah. They both keep me on my toes on a daily basis!

I'm completely daft over my furbabies and so when you contact me to ask me to look after yours, I understand how significant that is. My empathy with owners' anxieties coupled with my experience and knowledge of cats, puts me in a great position to care for them, just as I would my own.
